Since then I have gone on to have a very successful career as a freelance makeup artist, consistently working across bridal makeup, fashion, film and paramedical (camouflage) makeup. I also have a huge passion for passing on my skills and knowledge to up and coming makeup artists and am Director of Learning at my school – Joanna Blair School of Makeup.

I regularly update my skills and product knowledge with some of the world’s most sought after makeup artists (both here in Australia and overseas), so you can be assured that this combined with my already extensive experience means that if you are a bride - I can easily design a makeup for you, taking into account your facial structure; your outfit; eye, hair and skin color as well as your own ideas to give you a truly stunning result; or if you are my student – you are learning with the best and most up to date techniques and products available.

I have a nursing background whereby my compassion, the ability to listen and understand the client’s point of view is combined with my makeup expertise.

I receive referrals from some of Melbourne’s top Dermatologists (Associate Professor Rosemary Nixon; Dr Phil Bekhor and Dr Adrian Mar to name a few) working with their patients to camouflage all manner of skin conditions and teaching patients how to do this for themselves. It also means I make sure that all makeup I use is safe for sensitive skin.

I regularly work with on photo shoots, collaborating with some of the industry’s most talented artists – including photographer Peter Coulson (Awarded Fashion Photographer of the Year, 4 times); Multiple award winning Hairdresser Lorna Evans (Victorian Hairdresser of the Year); Angela Marccucio (very successful Bridal designer), just to name a few!

The power of makeup and its ability to transform a face (or body!) into its most beautiful, and the effect this has on self-confidence is truly remarkable – this is one of my most favourite aspects of my job.
